The mission of Mountain View Public Library.

Mission Statement:

The mission of the Mountain View Public Library ("MVPL") is to provide resources and services to meet the informational needs of the community. It is the desire of the MVPL staff, advisory board and city council to create a user-friendly library that provides materials and information to all citizens.

The MVPL is committed to providing its patrons:

  • A collection of materials that anticipates the needs of the community;
  • Adequate facilities, personnel and points of access that maximize utilization of the library;
  • Programs and services that reflect the composition and diversity of the community; and
  • An enhanced library administration and better services through networking and cooperating with other libraries, agencies, organizations and institutions.
